Yarn Count Converter
Convert between Ne, Nm, Tex, Denier, and Lea count systems
How It Works
Convert between all major yarn count systems: Ne, Nm, Tex, Denier, and Lea (Linen Count).
Yarn count conversion is essential for global textile trade, as different regions developed different systems. Ne (English Cotton Count) is used in UK/US, Nm (Metric Count) in Europe, Tex is the ISO standard, Denier is used for filament yarns, and Lea is used for linen. Understanding these conversions prevents costly errors in yarn sourcing, fabric production planning, and specification compliance.
Each system follows a different logic: Indirect systems (Ne, Nm, Lea) define count as length per unit weight — higher numbers mean finer yarn. Direct systems (Tex, Denier) define count as weight per unit length — higher numbers mean thicker yarn. The calculator handles all inter-conversions automatically, so you can enter any value in any system and see the equivalents instantly.
